WhatsApp Business app adds up Catalogs feature for small business owners

Facebook in a recently held press conference announced that WhatsApp is adding catalog features for small businesses. This feature will enable a business to showcase their product to their customers easily and in a more convenient way, it will also help in sending product detail to the prospective customer in WhatsApp chat.

The new feature, Catalogs could be used as a mobile storefront for businesses to easily showcase and share their goods.It will make browsing and discovering very easy for prospective buyers. Earlier for doing this, the businesses had to send product photos one at a time and repeatedly provide information.

WhatsApp says, “along with putting photos of the product in the catalog, its price, information and product code can also be added. Applying photos in the catalog does not affect your phone’s storage space, but earlier when the business used to send you photos of your product on WhatsApp, then your phone’s storage was full.”

The option adds to the gradually expanding business tools within WhatsApp. Back in April, WhatsApp made it’s a Business app available on iOS, while at the time, it also noted that more than five million businesses were already using the WhatsApp Business app on Android.

Step 1: Open the WhatsApp Business app and tap on the three dots at the top right corner.

Step 2: Click on Settings and go to Business Settings

Step 3: Tap on Business Settings and you will see an option of Catalog. Tap on this option.

Step 4: You will be redirected to the Catalog page. Click on Add Product or Service

Step 5: There you need to add an image of the product and then fill up Product Name, and Price.

Step 6: There is an option of More fields where you can add a Product description, website link and Product Code. Once done, click on the Save button.

Step 7: In order to share the Catalog, you need to go chat and then click on the attachment. There you will find the Catalog option. Tap on it and share the products with your customers.
